Turkey will take all the necessary measures to counter terrorism, up to and including a a cross-border military operation, the Anti-Terror Supreme Board said after a three and a half hour long meeting in Ankara Tuesday.
We have instructed all concerned institutions to take every type of legal, economic and political measures - including a cross-border operation in order to put an end to the presence of the terrorist organization in a neighbouring country, a statement issued after the summit said.
The extraordinary meeting of the board was called after 15 Turkish soldiers were killed in a 24 hour period over Sunday and Monday.
The terrorist organisation is in an effort to increase their bloody attacks because it is uneasy about recent economic, social and political developments and because it has lost support, the statement said. We have decided to speed up the steps that will ascertain peace, confidence and prosperity of our citizens.
