The Turkish squad, led by coach Fatih Terim, is at near full strength, having regained the services of Villarreal striker Nihat Kahveci, returning after a long injury lay off.
Turkey needs to get full points form the game if it is to have any chance of overhauling group leader Greece. In its first match against Malta, nominally a home game for the Turks but played behind closed doors in the German city of Frankfurt due to Turkey having a home ban imposed after a melee between Turkish and Swiss players and officials following a World Cup qualifier, Malta went down 0-2.
The Turks will have to back up from the Mata match on Wednesday, when they play Hungary in Istanbul.
