ANKARA - Turkeys President Ahmet Necdet Sezer is to meet with the leaders of the two largest parliamentary opposition parties three days before the parliament reconvenes after the July 22 general election.
President Sezer will meet with Republican Peoples Party (CHP) Chairman Deniz Baykal and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahceli on Wednesday.
According to a statement issued by the Presidential Press Centre on Tuesday, President Sezer would receive the leaders of the CHP and the MHP to congratulate them after the Higher Board of Elections (YSK) declared the final results of the July 22 general elections.
President Sezer had already congratulated Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan over the success of his Justice and Development (AK) Party in the parliamentary elections, the statement said.
