GENT - A Belgian court on Tuesday sentenced seven members of an outlawed Turkish left wing group to prison terms of between seven and four years. The Gent Court of Appeals released its 250 page verdict in the trial of the terrorist group the Revolutionary Peoples Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C).
The defendants had been facing charges ranging from membership of a terrorist group, possession of illegal weapons to the use of forged or illegal documents. on Tuesday.
The court sentenced Dursun Karatas and Musa Asoglu to seven years in prison, Bahar Kimyongur to five years, and Kaya Saz, Fehriye Erdal, Zerrin Sari and Sukruye Akar Ozordulu to four years.
After the court handed down its ruling, the Prosecutors Office requested the arrest of all the defendants.
