| | | | According to reports leading members of the PKK/KADEK including Osman Öcalan, Nizamettin Taş, Hıdır Yalçın and Kani Yılmaz have left the terrorist group.
Duran Kalkan, a member of the group’s Chairmanship Council, has claimed that those who abandoned the group were working in co-operation with the US and had the aim of disbanding the organisation.
The crack within the group happened at a time when the US forces are threatening to take military action against the PKK/KADEK. It is reported that Osman Öcalan and the others that broke with the PKK/KADEK are hiding in the Mosul.
Remaining members of the PKK/KADEK have claimed that the senior level embers of the terrorist organisation had made a deal with the US and were to be given the opportunity to live in exile in a European country if they co-operated with the US.
The dissident group are said to have claimed that if they did not co-operate with the US they would end up in prison, as is the case of the group’s founder Abdullah Öcalan, currently held on the Turkish prison island of mral.
Kalkan also said that the imprisoned leader Abdullah Öcalan saw the US offer as a move to destroy the group and objected to it. He added that Öcalan was to form an alternative political party to the existing pro-Kurdish DEHAP and that nominating independent candidates for the local elections was within this plan. | |
